Eye Doctors Who Truly Care About You

How We GOT Started

Arizona Eye Consultants has roots in Youngstown, Ohio. That’s where our founder, Dr. Sean McCafferty, grew up. After earning a degree in mechanical engineering and spending some time working in the steel and auto industries, Dr. McCafferty decided that his engineering knowledge could be used differently to help people. He enrolled in medical school and specialized in ophthalmology, and later, Dr. McCafferty would combine his unique fields of expertise to develop new ophthalmic medical devices.

In 2001, after completing his residency training at the University of Arizona, Dr. McCafferty founded Arizona Eye Consultants. Early on, Dr. McCafferty established a vision of bringing together some of the country’s best eye doctors in order to provide the highest possible standard of care to Tucsonans, and to offer comprehensive specialty care under one roof.

That vision resonated with our patients, and allowed us to expand to five offices and 17 providers. Today, we’re pleased to offer everything from routine vision exams for schoolchildren to advanced cataract surgery and glaucoma care for older adults. With a diverse array of specialists at one practice, our patients enjoy not having to go anywhere else.

At Arizona Eye Consultants, we only hire eye doctors who exhibit a genuine desire to make life better for patients. Our ophthalmologists are board certified, indicating that they have achieved the highest level of credentialing in our field. They are fellowship-trained specialists who have undergone specialty training in their area. Each of our providers has performed thousands of procedures, and always takes the time to thoroughly answer questions and explain the issues at hand.
